The purpose of the Butler County Communities Grant Cycle is to promote community service and community projects/programs or events that focus on the enhancement of communities in Butler County.  This grant cycle is sourced with funds from the El Dorado Community Foundation (ECF).  There is approximately $12,600 to award.  We are incorporating the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals into our categories of grant making in an effort to improve inequality regarding health, education and the economy while making the world a better place to live with climate and environmental improvements. 

The grant cycle is funded with proceeds from the following funds: 
• El Dorado Prairie Port Festival Fund: Supports charitable, scientific, and educational purposes that relate to community events and activities as a field of interest.  The field of interest is so defined as community events for the improvement of family relationships through activities that convene family and friends presently residing in and from El Dorado, KS. 1 Award Available
o Grants will be distributed to eligible charities starting new community events, as well as supporting existing community events and activities.  A priority of funding will always be for new community events in El Dorado, KS. 
• George Trimble Special Needs Charitable Fund: Supports organizations with projects/programs that provide assistance to the welfare and safety of citizens of El Dorado, KS by providing critical response to those 1) impacted by disasters, i.e. victims of fire, flood, or natural disasters; 2) for the promotion of public health, education, safety or other public cultural activities; or 3) for general assistance to the needy.
• Kansas Health Foundation Fund – Butler County: To underwrite solutions to local health issues, and for the protection and promotion of the health and well-being of individuals and their communities through the encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors, and environments within Butler County, KS. 1 Award Available
• Kansas Health Foundation Fund – El Dorado: To underwrite solutions to local health issues, and for the protection and promotion of the health and well-being of individuals and their communities through the encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors, and environments within El Dorado, KS. 1 Award Available

• Requests should not exceed $1,200 for the Kansas Health Foundation Fund - Butler County
• Requests should not exceed $3,000 for the George Trimble Special Needs Charitable Fund

The Central Kansas Kids FUNd is funded with proceeds from the L. Marie Haun Charitable Fund for Children.  The Central Kansas Kids FUNd aims to support project/programs and organizations having interest in children’s behavioral research, child welfare, teaching parent skills, and/or strengthening families. 

Examples of projects/programs that have been funded in recent years include: 
• Initiatives to reduce economic barriers for parenting courses with a mindfulness and whole family approach
• Providing leadership opportunities for youth to have a stake in substance abuse reduction and promoting positive mental health initiatives and community service
• Supporting the mentor-mentee relationship between a parent-child advocate and the parent/child to overcome trauma and teach essential life skills
• Providing parent education classes on positive discipline techniques
• Financially assisting families to access services for their children with special needs
• Offering temporary housing for children removed from situations involving abuse and neglect.

Projects/programs that primarily distribute commodities to children (i.e. food) are not primary areas of focus for the Central Kansas Kids FUNd grant cycle.  However, projects/programs that provide other services, like parent education classes or activities to build family relationships, of which providing a meal is one part, may be funded.  Projects that focus on parenting tools and behavioral skills will receive priority.   

To apply for this opportunity, your organization must meet the following requirements: 
• Possess a 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Service code, be exempt under statute (i.e. educational institution, church, city, or county), or be formally linked to an organization with such distinction
• Management should be in the hands of reliable, ethical, and experienced personnel 
• Be in any service area of Central Kansas Community Foundation and its affiliates – Harvey, Butler, Marion, Elk, Wilson, and Sedgwick (Valley Center) counties


Funding requests should not exceed $1,500.

To be eligible for consideration:
• An application must be submitted online by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
• The project/program cannot occur until after grants are estimated to be made (August 2024).
• The project/program must be completed by Monday, May 5, 2025.  unless additional considerations are shared prior to the completion of the project/program
• The organization must have completed a follow-up report, if it was funded in the previous year

All submissions are subject to the process, procedures, and rules of both the Central Kansas Kids FUNd and Central Kansas Community Foundation.  Applications are reviewed by a regionally sourced and objective review committee.  Upon review by the Central Kansas Kids FUNd Grant Review Committee, additional information may be requested for clarification.

The 2024 Fredonia Area Community Foundation (FACF) Grant Cycle has approximately $40,000 available to support organizations with project/programs that directly impact the communities in the Fredonia area.  The amount requested and types of projects/programs will determine the number of grants and the amount to be awarded. 

The FACF Grant Cycle is funded with proceeds from the following fund:
Fredonia Area Community Improvement Fund shall be used for support of charitable, scientific, or educational purposes related to organizations, projects, programs, and other community efforts that serve the greater Fredonia, Kansas area. 

To apply for this opportunity, your organization must meet the following requirements:
• Possess 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Service code, be exempt under statute (i.e. educational institution, church, a city or county), or be formally linked to an organization with such designation
• Management should be in the hands of reliable, ethical, and experienced personnel 

Funding requests should not exceed $10,000. 

Funds cannot be used for operating costs such as salary, gas, utilities, or to buy gifts to auction. 
USD 484 personnel may apply and are eligible to receive grants through the 2024 FACF Grant Cycle.  However, no more than $10,000 will be awarded to projects/programs within the school district.

To be eligible for consideration: 
• An application must be submitted online by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. 
• The project/program cannot occur until after grants are estimated to be made (August 2024)
• The project/program must be completed by May 19, 2025, unless additional considerations are shared prior to the completion of the project/program
• The organization must have completed a follow-up report if it was funded in the previous year 
FACF, an affiliate of Central Kansas Community Foundation (CKCF), was established to assist in providing resources for a broad range of existing and future charitable needs in the Fredonia, Kansas area. 
All submissions are subject to the process, procedures, and rules of both the FACF and CKCF.  Upon review by the FACF Grant Selection Committee, additional information may be requested for clarification.

Hesston Community Foundation (HCF) has approximately $23,000 available for the 2024 grant cycle.  Hesston Community Foundation Impact Fund has approximately $18,000 to be awarded for the purpose of supporting charitable projects/programs that benefit those in the Hesston community. The Kansas Health Foundation Fund – Hesston has approximately $5,400 to underwrite solutions to local health issues for the protection and promotion of the health and well-being of individuals and their communities through the encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors, and environments.  The amount requested and types of projects/programs will determine the number of grants and the amount to be awarded. 

To apply for this opportunity, your organization must meet the following requirements:

• The project/program must be completed by July 10, 2025, unless additional considerations are shared prior to the completion of the project/program
• The organization must have completed a follow-up report if it was funded in the previous year 

The Hesston Community Foundation (HCF), an affiliate of Central Kansas Community Foundation (CKCF), was established to assist in providing resources for a broad range of existing and future charitable needs in the Hesston, Kansas area. HCF supports the mission of Hesston, Kansas by granting funds to worthy organizations that strive to help Hesston become a better place for all area citizens, now and in the future.
